Clapping for the NHS

It has become a done-thing to clap for the absolute heroes and heroines of the National Health Service at 8 pm each Thursday.  Today we both went to the top of the tower to savour the moment and to show our appreciation and admiration.

On the dot of 8pm somebody triggered an explosion, perhaps from the top of Castlebergh, which triggered an amazing community applause from all around little old Settle.  Absolutely remarkable.   There was no traffic or other noise - just people clapping, punctuated occasionally by well meant car horns and cheers.

Given our lofty location we thought we could maybe contribute emphatically by using FoSCL's public address equipment, in normal times used to give commentaries to groups on noisy railway carriages.  It seemed to work as our applause echoed off the Castlebergh and back to us.

This amazing kit really works.
