The Aurora of a Lifetime

Here is baby daughter Lorna's house on East Common, Gerrards Cross late on 10th May 2024, taken from East Common showing the once-in-a-lifetime southern display of the aurora borealis.  It was visible all over he UK and we missed it.  Never mind, Facebook is full of amazing such images.  We have seen the phenomenon before - on a night flight from Vancouver to the UK I think (may have been Chicago).   I woke Pat up to see it but she seemed more intent on sleep.   Let sleeping dogs, and wives, lie.   I did the same thing when we were arriving in New York Harbour on the QM2 at God-knows-what-o'clock.  On that occasion I insisted, as best a husband can, that she got up and dressed and came on deck to see that wonderful skyline at dawn with the statue of Liberty and all the rest.  I think I may by now have been forgiven,  Some things cannot be missed.

Meanwhile, at Ribblehead:
