Birmingham's Professional Leader

Regular readers will have seen frequent reference to our daughter Lorna on this Blog.   Lorna is a star, but I declare some bias.   Since my fall she has clocked up 3,500 miles up and down the M6 from London to be with her old dad providing kind words, deeds and much appreciated - presence.

Professionally (and as a mother) she excels too in her chosen sphere of Corporate Responsibility within an international law firm - quite a challenge.   Her, and her firm's Corporate Responsibility trophy cabinet needs frequent enlargement.   Most times it tends to be project and outcomes related.

Last evening however was different.   It was Lorna personal.   She was awarded the 2018 Birmingham Professionals top prize for Leadership.   This is how the blurb reads:

INSPIRING LEADER

The Inspiring Leader award is designed to recognise exemplary figures within the professional community whose effect can be measured by their impact upon others; be it employees, colleagues or clients. Someone who has inspired and mentored the region’s young professionals over the years, who leads change and takes people with them, and who demonstrates a strong commitment to the success of Birmingham Future and the city of Birmingham generally.

Now that is a pretty tall order I reckon!

Here, posted with modest pride is part of her acceptance speech:
Sound on, of course.    Hope it works.   And here is a still entitled 'Shadow Home Secretary doing a V sign':

For perspective, here are two screen-grabs of our darling Lorna during Face-Time telephone calls to her Dad(dy) in Hospital

and with her Mum(my)
